Built on Hard Work, Honesty & Integrity
Appelhanz Roofing began as Appelhanz Construction in 1979 when Vietnam War Veteran, Ted Appelhanz, decided to “do anything in construction that anyone would pay him for” after he exited the Navy with honors, and the construction company he was working for went out of business. That survivor attitude, partnered with Ted’s hard work, honesty and integrity made Appelhanz Construction a respected business in Topeka, Kansas. Although he appreciated every job he worked on, Ted particularly enjoyed roofing, and within a couple of years he was able to turn Appelhanz Construction into what it is today – Appelhanz Roofing. Anytime you need roofing services in Topeka and Lawrence, KS, give us a call at 785-246-0006.
The Legacy Continues
From the age of 12, Ted’s son, Matt, learned the ins and outs of the industry as he poured his “sweat equity” into Appelhanz Roofing every summer for 9 years. In 1998, Matt joined the company full-time in a sales role, was promoted to General Manager in 2001, and in July 2013 officially purchased the business from his father. He has grown the company to not only proudly serve the Topeka area, but also Manhattan, Lawrence, and the surrounding areas.
